12/4/2007 - well i hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving! i spent mine in Las Vegas with my cousin and her husband and had a blast. we ate a ridiculous buffet at the Rio for 2 hours. i fully intended to lose my self-respect long before i arrived in Vegas and i completely ate everyone under the table! so again, thank you Julia and Adam for making my Thanksgiving holiday a morbidly obese one. i'll be traveling back home to Tennessee for Christmas to spend with friends and family which i'm looking forward to greatly. when i fly back to Arizona, i'll be moving again shortly after. i'm not sure where i'll end up, but it might be in YOUR basement so tidy up!

as for musical news, i have parted ways with my manager and ALLALOM Music. we'll continue to remain friends but we were going in different directions. what exactly does this mean? my music and other merch will only be available directly through me. Favourite Hallucination will still be available for download on iTunes and for purchase at CDBaby. you'll also be able to buy the few advance copies of Light From A Dying Star

i have left until the official version is released. the new album i recorded with Ronnie Martin weeks ago is still being worked on and probably won't be finished until January. i'm calling it Songs I'll Never Hear Again after one of the tracks with the same name and i'm really stoked to hear Ronnie's trickery on these tracks. the rough mixes i have from the sessions sound great even without all the electronic bells and whistles. be sure to check out www.myspace.com/jaredc to hear some of these rough mixes.

11/9/2007 - i've been busy preparing to record in Riverside, CA, this coming week. got all my guitars restrung and in tune for the sessions. i'll be bringing along my Danelectro Guitarlin, Convertible, and my Taylor Big Baby acoustic for the new album. Ronnie Martin's been hard at work figuring out my chord changes, programming drums and composing bass lines. i've been too busy, honestly, to really comprehend what i'm about to do. it's going to be a 9 song affair with all the bells, whistles, synths and guitars. be prepared to dance, kids. i'm really excited about project for many reasons. the latest batch of songs i've written have had a throw-back 80s electro pop feel to them and i'm curious to see where Ronnie will take the production. it started out as a 6-song EP and has now turned into a full-fledged album. stay tuned to my blog at www.myspace.com/jaredc as i'll try to keep a recording journal as we finish songs. i don't know how frequently i'll be able to blog, so keep checking back.

10/10/2007 - it's been awhile since this site has been updated though a lot has happened the past two months. for starters, i moved from Oregon to Arizona and i'm enjoying the change of pace! sure it's a lot warmer but there are more opportunities for me personally and musically throughout the area and Southern California. speaking of music, work has begun for my next CD which will be produced with Ronnie Martin of Joy Electric in early November. i'm really excited about this batch of songs and where Ronnie will take them. it's looking to be a 7-8 song album plus bonus tracks and is slated for an early Spring release.

*the much-delayed release of Light From A Dying Star will hopefully be out in mid-November. it will have been a year since i recorded those songs and again i apologize for the wait, but the final product will be stellar. it'll be available on iTunes and other online retailers.

in other news, i just finished a new demo (which is being considered for the new CD) called Songs I'll Never Hear Again. it's available at www.myspace.com/jaredc and is free to download. everyone's had a special song or songs that remind them of someone but when that relationship is ruined, those songs become thorns. there's a much longer-winded explanation of the song in my blog at www.myspace.com/jaredc. take a listen and download Songs I'll Never Hear Again!

finally, i've been able to go through my live concert footage and put some videos on YouTube! granted the picture and audio quality leaves much to be desired, but for those who've never seen me live, here's your chance. i'll be adding more footage in the upcoming weeks so be sure to check back here.

08/07/2007 - well kids i'm off to TOM Fest '07 to play a show on August 9th. last year's TF was amazing fun. i met a lot of great musicians and made new fans. i'm really looking forward to performing this year. i've got brand new CDs and stickers including a limited edition pressing of the Light From A Dying Star EP. only 40 were made for TOM Fest so either buy one or wait until the official CD is pressed. i'll be taking a lot of pictures and videotaping my performance and those will be available at myspace.com/jaredc when i get back. i'll also be keeping a tour journal which i'll have to transcribe for Myspace once i have an internet connection. stay tuned for more!

on a side-note, i'll be going to see Squeeze perform in Saratoga, CA, on the 14th of August which excites me greatly as they are one of my top 3 influences. they had broken up in 1998 so this will be my first Squeeze concert. reforming months ago, they're rereleasing all their albums with bonus tracks and i hope they find success with a new generation. i've talked with Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford several times and they're always gracious so if you can catch Squeeze live, please do so, or simply buy their albums. i love them all, but definitely check out Argybargy, East Side Story, Frank, Play, and Ridiculous at squeezeofficial.com

07/08/2007 - Lots of stuff going on this month, kids! First off, if you haven't done so, sign up for my monthly newsletter. It's full of tasty news, Q&A, podcast information, and music. Don't miss out.

The biggest news so far is that Favourite Hallucination is now available for immediate download on iTunes!! For only $5.94 you can download the entire EP or pick and choose your tracks for $0.99 each. Incidentally, hard copies of the CD can be purchased at CDBaby.com and at most record stores. The store can always order it if Favourite Hallucination isn't in stock.

Though the new Light From A Dying Star EP hasn't been released yet, advance copies were sent to radio stations and the press. Read one of the first reviews done by the Black and White Magazine. There's a lot of positive buzz about the new CD so sign up for the newsletter for release information and memoirs of recording with Jason Martin (Starflyer 59).

06/11/2007 - It's been a long time since I've had an official website. My first one was a mishmash of content including Flash games which took you to a Spanish coupon site when clicked, oddly enough. Anyway, big thanks to Jennifer and Chris Street for designing my new site. We'll be constantly adding new content to jaredcolinger.com so keep coming back and be sure to sign up for my newsletter.

In musical news, The Summer EP is out and available for free to anyone who comes to my shows this summer. It's a limited edition release so once it's gone, it's GONE. Grab one for yourself and a friend! Also in a few weeks, my Favourite Hallucination EP will be available to download on iTunes, Napster, and for purchase at several online retailers. If you haven't picked one up yet, you'll have more opportunities to do so! Keep checking back here for additional information.
